Sky's the Limit: Balloon Rally Soars Back to Las Cruces After Decade-Long Silence
After a 14-year absence, the beloved Mesilla Valley Balloon Rally is set to soar once again, thanks to the passionate efforts of local organizer Christine Casillas. This exciting revival promises to bring color and wonder back to the skies of Las Cruces.
The festival kicks off with a magical evening balloon glow on Friday, January 17th, transforming the Plaza de Las Cruces into a luminous spectacle from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors can expect a breathtaking display of illuminated hot air balloons against the night sky.
The celebration continues Saturday morning with a sunrise ascension at the Field of Dreams, where colorful balloons will gracefully lift into the crisp morning air. An enchanting evening glow will follow, offering another opportunity to witness the balloons' radiant beauty.
The rally concludes on Sunday with a final morning ascension at sunrise, promising a spectacular end to this long-awaited event that celebrates the art of ballooning and the vibrant spirit of Las Cruces.
